Jordan PTSA is excited to bring the Reflections program to our students.

 

Reflections is a nationwide program offered by the national PTA that provides an avenue for creative expression for students K-12 in areas such as dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. Every year there is a different theme which is also selected from submissions from student participants as well.

The theme for the current year 2022-2023 is

 "Show Your Voice"

Show Your Voice! will be the next Reflections theme for 2022-2023. Plan your projects now. It's never too early to start!

Jason Yevin, from Salk/Macarthur PTSA in New York, was the Theme Search winner back in 2019 for suggesting the theme Show Your Voice!  in the National PTA's theme search contest. Jason was awarded $100 for suggesting the chosen theme!

Since its creation back in 1969 by the  Colorado PTA President Mary Lou Anderson at the time, Reflections has become a very popular program with well over 200,000 students participating annually. Although It is a competition and student work can progress and get recognition at the national level, the main focus of the program is to encourage students to express themselves, feel empowered and tell their own unique stories.

 

Students of all ages and ability levels can participate. The student or at least one person from their primary household must be a current member of the Local PTA/PTSA where the student is participating.
